Physically large, the Deerhound Lurcher has also been called the gentle giant, and truly this is an apt description, as they softly nudge us for another caress or carefully take a tidbit from our hands, always making sure their teeth don't touch our tender fingers.  

 

Their rough coat needs but little brushing to keep it looking great, and the softness of their brow and beard blows gently in the breeze when they stand out in the field, head to the wind and eye alert and keen.  

 

A mighty sight in the field, the Deerhound Lurcher is also content to curl up in the house near his family with a head resting on a foot or knee, just happy to be close to those s/he loves.  

 

At the shows, their calm demeanor and dignified presence is often remarked upon as they wait to be judged in conformation classes.  They're also always accepting of admiring pats and ear scratches, which seems to endear them to bystanders.

 

All in all, a Deerhound Lurcher is a most perfect companion!

Females will stand 28 and males 32 inches tall at the shoulders. We only sell puppies that we breed ourselves, and can assure that they are well reared.  All puppies are regularly wormed.

We sell puppies after they reach 8 weeks of age.  With the birthdate expected to be around the 1st of October, the pups will be available at the beginning of December 2018.

If you would like to visit our litter, you will find a warm welcome. It is always advisable to ring in a couple of days in advance of your visit, making sure someone is about to show you around. Annie and Hal will spend time with you, listening to your needs. As there is a lot to see and take in, we usually advise that you go home to think about which pup will suit you best.
